Fine Brendtner (DEU)

Fine Brendtner is a multi-disciplinary researcher and current PhD fellow at Aarhus University. In her work she combines insights from visual anthropology, environmental sciences and media arts.

During her stay with Earthwise, she completed her MSc thesis “Ocean Matters – An Anthropological Study of Marine Scientific Imaging in, on and with Icelandic Waters” as our writer-in-residence. Bridging visual theory and more-than-human scholarship, her study followed marine scientists in the subpolar arctic ocean around Iceland and explored environmental sensing and the material properties of ocean waters in connection to the bodies of those undertaking research.
